AlBaraka Islamic Bank B.S.C (c) (Bahrain) held its annual Ramadan gabgah for its employees which were also attended by the staff of Albaraka Banking Group.
Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board of Directors of AlBaraka Islamic Bank, Mohamed Isa Al Mutaweh gave a speech in which he congratulated the employees of the Bank on the event of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing them high heavenly rewards for their good deeds during the month. In his speech, he also highlighted the positive developments that the Bank is witnessing in all areas, especially the concerted efforts being exerted in the area of the unification of the Bank’s operations and departments following the merger with Al Amin Bank late last year. In this regard, the unification of the financial statements and marketing, investment and operating bodies of the Bank has already been completed, which will enable the Bank a powerful leap in its operation by capitalizing upon its new position and enhanced resource to achieve maximum returns to its shareholders and at the same time satisfy the varying and growing needs of its customers of all categories.
Al Mutaweh added that “in addition to the successful completion of the installation of the new IT system which will enable the Bank to improve the quality and speed of its services to its customers and increase employee productivity, the Bank continues to enhance its systems and human resources in accordance with a program that has well defined objectives and goals”.
Al Mutaweh also praised the excellent financial results which the Bank’s operations in Pakistan achieved in 2007 and the first half of 2008 and added that the plans to convert Bank’s operations in Pakistan to an independent Islamic bank and offer part of its share for public subscription are progressing well and according to schedule. The Bank has already obtained the necessary approvals from the State Bank of Pakistan as well as the blessing of the financial and political leaderships in Pakistan, which reflects the fact that the IPO is expected to meet great success.
The gabgah event included many competitions which included the giving of valuable prizes and gifts to the employees who were present, followed by enjoying a good Suhoor meal.
