R. Seetharaman, Chief Executive Officer Doha Bank was recently conferred by The President of Mauritius H.E RT. Hon. Sir Anerood Jugnauth G.C.S.K., K.C.M.G., Q.C the prestigious NRI Institute Achievers Excellence Award for the Phenomenal Banker Achievers Excellence Award for his pioneering contribution to the world of banking. The gala award ceremony took place at Le Meridian – Mauritius in the presence of more than 250 people of Indian origin from across the globe. The entire delegation was also invited by H.E. the President at President’s House for tea reception.
Earlier at the 28th International Congress of NRIs, Seetharaman also delivered his key note speech, on “Global Financial Crisis and Opportunities for India”. Speaking at the congress, Seetharaman highlighted the current global crisis, its impact on the functioning of the global economy and the economic outlook on the world economies in light of the financial crisis. Further, he also explained what the global financial crisis meant for real economies, one like India and the measures and opportunities available for India to come out strongly from it. Further, Seetharaman highlighted the policy changes that are required at a macro-economic level and financial/monetary level for India to emerge stronger. The congress was attended by renowned bankers, industrialists, analysts, economists, regulators, scholars, legislators, educationalists etc.
