BenQ has launched the dual-lamp SP920 DLP projector that uses the latest picture-enhancing technologies to provide superior picture quality with adjustable lumen output, superior optical efficiency, greater connectivity and lights-on convenience.

The SP920 is part of BenQ's SP series of high-brightness projectors designed to deliver the best projection under the brightest lights. The projector provides maximum productivity and enjoyment for use in the corporate, government and educational sectors.

Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa, said:

'BenQ was the first vendor to adopt the DLP (Digital Light Processing) patented technology from Texas Instruments in the digital projector marketplace.'

'The SP920 projector is another example of BenQ's commitment to staying one step ahead of the competition as it allows users to achieve the best projection under the brightest lights. The dual lamp technology also provides reassurance during presentations as the second lamp provides continuous operation in case of burn out,' Bakshi added.

The SP920's unique dual lamp positioning alters light angles to produce an output of 6000 lumens to project the brightest light possible whilst at the same time increasing the efficiency of the lamps and reducing energy consumption.

The SP920 allows the user to choose from three projection modes; Dual Brightness mode has an exceptional lamp life of 2000 hours and uses all 6000 lumens to present images in dazzling intensity and clarity. It is particularly effective in situations with high light ambience such as auditoriums. Dual Reliable mode delivers 4800 lumens for use in lights-on boardroom presentations and offers a lamp life of 3000 hours. Single Alternative Mode uses a sole 3000 lumens lamp suitable for lights-on conference presentations with a lamp life of 4000 hours.

BenQ has teamed with OSRAM and Texas Instruments to create UNISHAPE colour enhancement technology to deliver balanced brightness and colour correction with the SP920. The result is images that are up to 40% bolder than those on competing projectors which often struggle to balance brightness and colour correction by optimising one to the detriment of the other.

Use of Texas Instruments' DLP chip and Brilliantcolor technology in collaboration with BenQ's 5-segment Golden Ratio colour wheel amplifies brightness by up to 50% with super-enhanced whites, blacks and mid-tone hues. Colours such as vibrant yellows and cyans will not decay using the SP920 as they tend to do when using LCD projectors. Video processing is also blur-free with a speed up to 1000 times faster than with LCD technology.

The SP920 is highly customisable with the application of 3D colour management technology to allow individual control of the colour saturation levels of red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow. The model also offers password access, wall colour correction, a presentation timer, speakers and an on screen FAQ feature.
