Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Alhusein the Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Syrian Insurance Supervisory Commission, GlobeMed Syria has held a dinner ceremony at Sheraton Damascus – on Thursday, March 10th 2011, during which it launched the First Medical Statistics Bulletin of its insurance portfolio and awarded some of its healthcare providers the prize of “Colleague of the year 2010”.
The event was attended by Iyad Alzahraa the General Manager of the Syrian Insurance Supervisory Commission who is the official representative of His Excellency the patron of the event, Sleiman Alhassan the General Manager of the Syrian Insurance Company and the Chairman of the Syrian Insurance Federation and Samir Nahas Chairman of GlobeMed Syria. In addition to the Medical doctors syndicate managers, Pharmacists syndicate managers; Dentists syndicate managers, Syrian Clinical Laboratories Association management, Chairmen and managers of many Syrian insurance companies in addition to a group of elite Syrian doctors, pharmacists and healthcare operators.
After the dinner, Nahas welcomed the audience and presented GlobeMed’s board speech during which he went through GlobeMed’s major accomplishments, and stressed the providers’ role in supporting health insurance in Syria as a national pilot project. He also emphasized the priority of spreading insurance awareness among the people of Syria. Later, he displayed a short documentary that illustrates the importance of statistics in life.
Right after Nahas’ speech, Dr. Nabil Henedi the Deputy General Manager of GlobeMed Syria addressed the audience with a presentation about the inaugurated bulletin, in his presentation he summarized the most important medical statistical facts witnessed by the health insurance sector since its early days until the beginning of the present year, his presentation also has outlined the main demographic aspects of GlobeMed’ adherents and their claims distribution, and pointed out the main reasons for admission in hospitals either for treatment of undergoing a medical procedure, in addition to presenting the distribution of out-of-hospital claims, their expenses and nature.
Finally, Iyad Alzahraa, Sleiman Alhassan and Samir Nahas along with Dr. Wael Halaqy the Medical doctors syndicate manager, Dr. Fares Alsha’ar Pharmacists syndicate manager and Dr. Wajeeh Joma’a Manager of Aleppo branch in the Medical Doctors’ Syndicate have cordially awarded the honored providers with the “Colleague of the Year 2010” emblems. The awards went to Dr. Tarif Aita, Alabbasyeen Hospital, Alfarra Lab, The workers pharmacy in the ministry of higher education and Doctor Amir Alattar radiology center.
